What is a Limited Edition bronze sculpture?

Most of Duane's sculptures are limited editions. When he first creates the original clay model and makes a master rubber mold of it, he sets a limit as to the total number of them that he will cast in bronze. This can be from one (a one time commission) to several hundred, depending on the piece. Once this limit is met, he essentially "breaks" the mold and no more of that particular sculpture will be made. While each one will look essentially the same, since each one is made by hand, no two are exactly alike…which contributes to the uniqueness of each piece.

How can I tell the edition number of one of Duane's bronze sculptures?

Each sculpture is signed and numbered. You also get a Certificate of Authenticity with all the information about your sculpture including which one it is.

What are the prices?

We don't put prices on the website, but would be glad to provide you with that information upon request. Just call, write or e-mail us with any questions you may have.

How can I get one of Duane's bronze sculptures?

If you purchase one at a show that we are exhibiting at, you can take it with you or we can deliver or ship it to you. Alternatively, you can order one by contacting us. We can ship worldwide. However, if you are somewhere in the vicinity of where we are or are going to be, we prefer to deliver your sculpture personally.

How long will it take to get my sculpture if I want to buy one?

Each bronze sculpture typically takes one to two months to make (not counting the original design and creation of it in the first place). Since they are not mass-produced nor stored in large quantities in a warehouse, we typically have no more than one or two of each on hand at any one time. If we have one that you would like, we can usually ship it or deliver it fairly quickly. However, if it has to be made from scratch specifically for you, it could take as long as a month or two to make before we would be able to ship or deliver it. If you commission Duane to custom create something special just for you, you would need to add the time it would take for Duane to create the original clay model and mold first. Duane can estimate how long this would take based on what you want him to do.

How can I see Duane's sculptures in person?

We travel to a lot of shows around the country. If you let us know where you are or are going to be, we can tell you if and when we will be somewhere near you. If you wish, we'd be glad to add you to our growing list of people who want us to let them know by e-mail, postcard or phone when we are going to be exhibiting in their vicinity. We can also keep you updated with the latest news about Duane and his newest creations.

What is the value of the sculptures?

The value of Duane's sculptures will appreciate substantially as time goes by for a couple of reasons. First, our cost to create them continues to rise. As our costs rise, we eventually have to raise our prices, which means the value of the ones purchased at earlier, lower prices has already increased. Also, most of the sculptures are limited editions, so once the limit is reached, they become even more valuable because the only way you can get one after that point is from someone who already owns one.

How much care will my sculpture take?

Bronze sculptures require very little care. Normally, just an occasional light dusting with a brush or vacuum cleaner will suffice.

Can bronze sculptures be kept outside?

Yes, bronze sculptures can be kept indoors or out. The statues you see in public parks and such are typically bronze sculptures and many have been standing outside for centuries.

How long will these bronze sculptures last?

Bronze sculptures last for many hundreds of years and are often handed down as heirlooms from one generation to another.

What if I don't see what I'm looking for?

Duane can custom create anything you wish. Alternatively, one of our talented friends may have already created what you are looking for. Just ask and we will tell you what we can do to accommodate your request.

What if I want something special done?

If you are considering commissioning Duane to sculpt something special just for you, Duane will quote you a price along with an estimate of how long it will take to create. First you will need to provide information about what you want such as the size desired along with a description including, if possible, pictures and/or drawings.

How does he do it?

Each bronze sculpture is created using the "Lost Wax Method".
